Most plans come without joinery methods because there are so many ways to accomplish the task. All plans have complementary free YouTube videos showing you how I performed the task for that particular piece. I try and use different joinery methods when I can, primarily to demonstrate how to do them.
You could certainly spend your hard-earned money to purchase one of these, but it's much easier and cheaper to utilize some of that shop scrap to build an over-the-fence jig for the table saw. I know we all remember seeing Norm use one of these in nearly every episode, and this version is easily just as accurate.
